A day for writer's block

It's crazy.  I honestly don't know what to say in this blog post.  I tried to make a goal for myself to update the blog at least once a week.  I have done pretty good as of the late.  But seriously, I don't have hardly anything to write.

Nothing new.  Same old, same old.  Not moving, not pregnant, still in school...this is the life.

So maybe just some basic updates I hardly think are blog worthy.  Update 1, I officially found out I will graduate from the nursing program December 2014.  It feels so far away I just can't wait to get started.  The program itself is 5 semesters and they have certain studies during each semester.  For me, it will be a really light load.  We are talking barely scraping by with 12 credits each semester.  I have done so many of the classes for it already I am already ahead of others who are stuck with 18 credits for the first couple of semesters.  I can't combine any, but at least I get to completely focus on nursing.

Update 2, my injury.  I am supposed to be starting races for outdoor track but I am injured.  I feel like I am falling apart from silly things.  Like muscle weakness and a little plantar fasciitis in my foot.  I am so tired of doing alternative work outs, I just want to run!  Running is such a major part of who I am that not doing what I love is just depressing.

Update 3, Andrew will hopefully be starting school again soon.  He will most likely just be taking a few classes here and there at night or online while he works.  Basically, he is completing the degree for his job so he can eventually rank up.  I am really proud of him for starting with this and then hopefully he finds out what he wants to major in along the way:)

So there you have it.  I gave 3 updates.  Nothing too major but at least it is something.  Sometimes I think that I will be grateful doing this blog and being able to look back at all the events of our lives!

4 years ago today we had our first date.
A blind date mind you,but who would have guessed we would have become:
best friends, spouses, soul mates?

He gave me roots.  I gave him wings. He is fire to my ice. My yin to his yang.

You get the picture...  Well here we are 4 years later.  Before we got married, March 22nd we counted as the anniversary we first met (a day after he returned from his mission!) We don't count "monthiversarys" now, but this day will always have a special place in our hearts:)

(our early days)

Happy March 22nd to us!

A day for husbandisms

My husband rocks.  I just love him.  What makes me love him so much?
Let me tell you a little of his randomness.
Enjoy 20 fun facts about my amazing husband.

  • He is germaphobe.  He has gotten better with me, but he still freaks out if a child touches any food or drink he has.
  • His current obsession is those survivor shows.  Man vs. Wild and the like.
  • He thinks he is a star basketball player.  He even makes comments about others who play with him.  The catch is he never even played in high school:)
  • He won't admit it but he loves the clothes at Aeropostale.
  • He wears the same outfit pretty much everyday .  Currently: a white Aeropostale zip-up hoodie with jeans and his grey shoes.
  • Speaking of wearing the same outfit...he recognizes this because he hardly lets me take any pictures of him because, and I quote,  "No.  I am always wearing this outfit in all of my other pictures..."  (such a goof!)
  • He loves wearing his glasses because he knows I don't like them.
  • When we were dating he used to flip knives to scare me.  He never missed catching them...
  • He loves take out pizza.
  • My husband loves our dog Athena because she is so hyper.  She drives me crazy!
  • My man loves movie quotes.  In fact, he works them in everyday conversation.
  • Speaking of quotes, he loves the movie Ever After (which he won't admit if you ask) and his favorite line to quote is..." Danielle (in a creepy, nasally voice).  I had a horse like you once..."
  • He has major spelling issues.  Many of which he now realizes and purposefully uses when he texts me " I am so board." He knows it is actually "bored" in this context :)
  • Speaking of spelling, one time when we were playing a game the topic was- what not to do on a first date- and then everyone had to guess who said what.  Two people put "propose".  Turns out one of them was written as "purpose".  Turns out... it was my husband :)
  • Once a missionary, always a missionary.  He still constantly talks about his mission even after 4 years.
  • Like every other guy, he always talks about "Someday when I have my truck..."
  • My man loves video games.  It is his guilty pleasure, and makes him kind of a dork when he has his headset talking to others who are also playing.
  • My man is a tie snob (someday I will also have a special post on this)
  • He is obsessed with the wild west.  Yes, he even has a video game about it.
  • He can't wait to have children.  However, he also talks about our children being boys.  Too bad they will all be girls! (Someday I will discuss "The Anderson Curse")
1 Corithians 13:4 reads," Charity suffereth long and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up."

This scripture truly talks about love, and I believe Andrew epitomizes this verse.  He is so loving, kind, patient, and minimal in all his needs. The simple truth is he puts up with all my issues, and that alone is amazing :) He is dorky and quirky but I couldn't love him any more for it!

Yep. I love my man.

A day for broken vows

I broke a vow I promised I wouldn't.
As I am saying this you might be intrigued as to what that might be.
It may not be as bad as you think.  Yet I still feel the need to hide my head in shame.

I am not quite sure what happened.  I was browsing through pinterest as I do on most days.  This time my search led me through the "For the home" section.  I came upon these and next thing I knew I pressed the "repin" button. Now my board is forever tainted with my guilt.

Here is the evidence:

 &

I promised myself that till I was within six months of thinking about being pregnant I wouldn't post anything baby related.  As I am a couple years away from that I definitely broke that vow.  I couldn't help it they were just so cute.

Perhaps I liked it more for the color ideas than anything else.  Yep.  That must be it. I mean people who aren't even engaged or even dating someone have future wedding ideas!  So I guess I am fine.  Nevertheless it is done and when the time does come I can always look back at these adorable ideas!

A day of love

That's right.I am finally getting around to Valentine's Day!

It was pretty silly this year since it landed on a Tuesday.  So we had a little celebration that day but saved our trip for that Friday.  Andrew had the day off, I skipped school that day and we headed to Fargo, ND.  Who would have ever thought I would be spending a vacation there?  Anywho, it was so fun!  Fargo is a little bigger than where we live and the mall is much more so!  That little incentive was a bonus for me.

But before I get a head of myself let me share a few pictures from Tuesday,

The table set up.  The husband also got me flowers!

Us (mostly:))

So we decided to go to Fargo, about 4 hrs from where we live just to get a way.  We even did one of our "checks" on our bucket list!  I have always wanted to use hotwire.com to book a hotel because 1) it cheaper and 2) they don't tell you where you are staying until after you book!  It is like Russian roulette for a hotel stay!  We ended up with the Comfort Inn.  It wasn't too bad, although the hot tub wasn't working...

Well we arrived and the first thing we did was unpack our stuff and head to the movies.  A theater there was having the last showing I could find for Beauty and the Beast 3D.  That movie cost us $24 dollars!  I thought the seats had better be lined with gold...It was still fun.  I don't think this couple will be seeing anymore 3D movies anytime soon( it was a little painful!) but it was still fun.

While we were there I won a mini-pillow pet in a crane game.  I tell ya I have a gift!

The next day was really fun for us (ok mostly me).  We spent most of the time at the mall.  I guess I should clarify this mall has a Forever 21 store (can you say the "mothership"?) where we spend most of time.  But the food during our trip was awesome!  Even after waiting for a while we still got our food at a Korean and Japanese food place called Yuki & Hana.  Yes, they only give you chopsticks to eat so it was really fun!

Overall it was a relaxing and fun vacation being together. We love holidays and try to make it a little above and beyond a typical day.
